Recount on zoo trip

 When: Wednesday

Who: The whole school of Edmund Hillary School#

Where: At the zoo

What: Looked at animals and ate lunch

How: Went on 6 busses

On Wednesday I was walking my way to school. After a few seconds my class opened. Sheona called us all to class then she gave us our name tags. A few Minutes later I walked my way to the bus with my whole class. On the bus we sang songs like ka waiata, He honore and a lot more. After we played , I think karson was the master.

We walked out of the busses and sat down on the ground in the main area of the zoo. The instructors told us to stick with our parents and listen. Also she said don't feed the animals because they were in a duet and dont touch them. In our group was Hesioni, Luke, Karson, Vakasa, Murray and me.

Then we started our adventure. We walked to the bridge then saw Zebras and Giraffes. They were so tall like the sky tower and the Zebras were just eating like a hungry person. Next animal was Ostrich whose neck was so long and their legs were long and they stink but were skinny         but the weird thing was they were shaking. I don't know why.

After the Ostrich we saw a flamingo after that we looked for the Elephants but they had to wake up at 11:35. While we were waiting it started to get boring so we ate lunch. When we finished we went to go see the birds. It was cool because we got to see them fly, sleep, eat and look at us. They weren't like the other animals like standing still and not moving.

Next we saw the spider monkey. It was so crazy, fast and funny. The lonely monkey was eating so much it was just minding its own business. A monkey was getting its food and it nearly fell off the tree. But luckily it didn't because they were professional.

Next what we saw was the gorilla. The gorilla were so funny cuz they always fell down and the other monkeys were laughing after that we saw alligators they were standing still i knew why they stand still cuz that's how they get their preys you might think their dum but they stand still so that when people think their fake but when you get closer they will attack you after that we had to go because zoo was closing then when we got back to school then went home.

Recount On DIY Camp

 Recount On DIY Camp 2020

On November 10th we had a diy camp. We got in the hall all of the classes left except our class. Then the instructors introduced themselves there names were Om but his real name was Onmic the next instructors was Mounty and Hannah. They lead us to make steps. They asked us questions like where were tepe from?

After that we started to make steps. The first step was to get begs and a rope then turn the rope around adter taking two big steps and stab the beg in. After that we got to play with maori toys and that. We got a ball made out of harakeke. We played volleyball and it was fun.

Then we got called to eat morning tea and sanitize our hands. For morning tea we had nut bars,Fruit,Bananas,Oranges. After morning tea we had dowtime to go in our tepes. We spent 20 minutes there. After that we went to our instructors they sent an adult and they will teach you to weave a bracelet.

After weaving We went into the hall, then Mounty told us a story about Maui making fire.

Then we tried it when we got the hang of it,it started to smoke. We had to get hay then get burnt hay.  Then we got flint in steel then scraped it to the burt hay then it started to smoke you had to blow it to make fire so that's what we did then flames pooped up. After we had to throw it in the cmap fire to make dinner.

After that we did cooking and I was peeling the kumaru. Next to me was people cutting the onions I started to tear up. When I finished I went outside to play with my friends. They were playing volleyball. Few minutes later Ila,Patric,Luke,Tevia and I went to go get wood for the fire. Manpreet then told us to go in our teepees again. 

Then we got called to come out. Then we eat dinner. It was curry chicken that was so yum. When I finished we got called to go into the hall. Rain our prince bell talked to use to clean our toilets. After we made lanterns we had to find animal footprints my group was the last group to finish.

After we sang waiata

by the campfire sang kaw waita,Matariki waitai,He honore and Heaps more than the instructor om told us to go sleep.
